Your first visit to your local Melbourne Chiropractor
From the moment you walk into our Melbourne Chiropractic office on Collins Street and are welcomed by our friendly Chiropractic Assistant, the emphasis will be on you and your health goals. Everything we do from this point forward will be dedicated to providing you with the finest care possible.
Your first visit will take approximately 20-30 minutes. We are respectful of your time and always strive to be on time. We ask you to spend some time prior to coming into our office filling out our Chiropractic New Patient Form. This will help to streamline your first visit to Chiropractic Health & Wellness on Collins.
When you arrive we will already have your details entered into the computer, your file prepared, and we can begin.
What is included in the initial consultation?
- Thorough case history and review of previous health complaints.
- Comprehensive spine and nervous system examination.
- Postural analysis – Computerised Postural Assessment
- Bilateral weight scale analysis.
- Optimal health protocols.
Will I need to get x/rays done?
X-rays of the spine or other tests maybe recommended during your initial visit.
X-rays form an essential part of determining the exact health of someone’s spine, show clearly the alignment of the spine and will also indicate any spinal degeneration which maybe present. X-rays increase the safety and accuracy of your care and help determine the right program for you.
We take the health of your spine and nervous system seriously. Our thorough approach to your case helps to ensure that you will be provided with the highest standard of chiropractic care possible.
If X-rays are required you will be referred to a local radiography clinic. Bulk billing will be organized for Medicare card holders.
Will I get any treatment on the first visit?
This depends entirely on Dr Luke, a highly experienced and skilled Melbourne Chiropractor, and his findings from the initial consultation and examination. Most cases require X-rays before any program of care commences.
If we are to provide you with the best care possible, it is essential for us to complete this thorough assessment procedure. We don’t want to guess when it comes to your health.
What happens next?
After the initial consultation and examination, your chiropractor will review your case and the findings from your history, consultation and examination. We also further analyse your digital postural analysis photos. If you have been referred out for X-rays we wait for those to be reported on and returned.
On your second visit to our Chiropractic office, your Chiropractor will spend time with you reviewing your X-rays and explaining to you about the health of your spine. We focus on the alignment of the spine and the possible affects that spinal misalignments (subluxations) can have on your overall health and well being.
Once we have explained the X-ray findings to you, we then move on to your first chiropractic adjustment. This adjustment is unique to Chiropractic and is the method utilized to restore the natural alignment and movement to the spine. This restores optimal nerve impulses by relieving the pressure resulting from spinal misalignments (subluxations).
